Black and Gold Express President Shaun Horrigan travels
to Pittsburgh to attend Mel Bounts annual "celebrity roast",
which helps raise funds for at risk teenagers through his
Mel Blount - A legendary Pittsburgh "Steeler and Hall of
Famer" founded the Mel Blount Youth Home in 1983 in
Vidalia Georgia. In 1989, he established a second Youth
Home in Claysville, Pennsylvania.
The Mel Blount Youth Home is a nonprofit home for
troubled boys ages seven through seventeen. Mel's vision
of creating a safe place of healing, hope, security, and a
place where boys can learn integrity and self-respect has become a reality.
The Mel Blount Youth Home is more dedicated than
ever to the mission of helping disadvantaged youth
become well-rounded productive citizens. Only through
